1. Become a Member
There is no membership fee to join! At Intare Rides, we believe in making ridesharing reliable and safe, and we go the extra mile to ensure the best experience for our members—that’s our mission.
2. Tell Us About Your Journey
Let us know where you're heading, when you're leaving, and how many passengers you'd like to share your ride with. You decide the departure and arrival points, and how much luggage your vehicle can accommodate.
3. Who Are Your Passengers?
Before you hit the road, you’ll be able to learn more about the passengers you'll be traveling with. Then, simply pick them up at the meeting point and head off to your destination!
Tips for Drivers
As a driver, it’s essential to make sure your passengers are comfortable and treated like guests. Be attentive and drive safely. The following tips will help you be an ideal driver:
- Share Savings: Transporting passengers should be incidental to your trip, not your primary purpose. Ridesharing is about reducing expenses, providing a service, and meeting new people.
- Safety: Using a phone while driving is prohibited across Canada. Keep both hands on the wheel, and if you need to make a call, use hands-free equipment. You are responsible for the safety of your passengers. Always respect road signs and speed limits.
- Practical Meeting Places: Set up meeting points close to places well-served by public transit. Passengers often don't have their own transportation and may have difficulty reaching remote locations.
- Two Per Bench: We limit the number of passengers in the rear seat to two (2). This makes it easier for everyone to talk and enjoy the ride!
- A Welcoming Place: Keep your vehicle clean and tidy. If you have pets, do a quick clean-up to avoid allergies for passengers.
- Transparency = Trust: Think of your Intare Rides profile as your business card. It lets passengers get to know you better before traveling together and makes the ride more pleasant for everyone.
- Enjoy the Trip: Ridesharing is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, have fun, and engage in great conversations. Just be mindful that some passengers might prefer quiet time—breaking the ice at the beginning is always a nice gesture.
- If You Feel Uncomfortable: If you ever feel uncomfortable during the ride, don’t hesitate to report it. Good communication can make any trip smoother and more enjoyable.
